Many classic car marques actually have a substantial salvage parts business that has grown up around them, and networks of enthusiasts are a great way to source parts at a price that won't break the bank.

You probably should not buy a salvage yard body shop, or whirlpool washer parts with out being raised in the business. If you are a salesman you can buy almost any business.

Or you might want to store used acids, dry cleaning compounds, pool chemicals, dyes, strippers, solvents, and other hazardous chemicals that result from the work you do. They will also help you comply with various federal and state regulations.

After some time of playing Remote Controlled cars, you might meet some other people who play RC cars too. They may introduce you to a more complex scene where car competitions are happening. If you don't want to get left behind by these new friends of yours, you would need to switch to an even better radio controlled car. For many people, anything more than a hundred dollars is no longer cheap. But if you enjoy what you're doing, then go for it. The cheapest cars that have what it takes to join a competition lie somewhere between 300 and 400 dollars, still cheap if you're totally hooked.

You need to think about who will be operating the layout. If it will be children, you might opt for rolling stock that is more rugged (which usually means less detailing). Picking up and handling the model trains can result in little pieces getting broken off. Since most rolling stock is made out of plastic today, you can buy rolling stock with details that are molded right into the car. This makes them more durable.

These are the general tactics you want to use anywhere. Watch for businesses that are closing down or ones that are just moving into a building. Be sure to check estate and yard sales for unwanted items, and be sure to ask if there's anything they're getting rid of that isn't up front for sale. This can lead to broken items like extension cords, lawnmowers, etc... Many people don't realize these items still have value and are glad just to be rid of them. Post an ad in the local paper and on Craigslist. Like I said before, the people who know your name, the better your business will be.
