Truthfully, used car parts will save you money. Obviously it is cheaper than buying brand new car parts, but do you think you'll be getting the same quality? That is something you should be concerned about. Fortunately, most auto parts recyclers will offer a warranty with their parts. They also have a full database which makes it much easier, and quicker to locate parts than at a dealership. Even if they don't have the part you need, they can get it to you pretty quickly.
Every town has at least one junk yard, which it is commonly called an auto regarding surplus parts because they salvage the parts. Some parts on these vehicles are not functional, but even the most dilapidated vehicles have something that is useful on the inside or outside.
Don't buy an auto part just because it is cheapest. It is not frugal to have to repair again soon after the initial repair. It is a waste of time and money. Many times you want good quality for safety too. Did you know that many of the stores will beat their competitors on price. You tell them the lowest price quoted and ask if they can beat it.Therefore, they will usually work with you. When I am getting prices from a dealer, like Ford for example, I always ask them if that is the best they can do. They always come down on price too. They even vary from dealership to dealership in the same county, no kidding. THEY WANT YOUR BUSINESS.... THEY WANT YOUR MONEY...

All of the stores that you would locally buy parts from have give you the ability of buying auto parts online. They offer all the parts that you would find in the brick and mortar store plus everything that the organization would offer. Then there are the internet auto parts warehouses where they offer many brands and carry almost anything that you could bolt onto your car. Then there are specialty stores that offer parts for specific reasons or specific cars that that are a little harder to get or more uncommon.
The problem with buying used is that you have no idea what condition the unit is in. Appearance is not a good indicator and you have no way to do a pressure test. So, what do you do?
